AN HOUR of mystery, quirky comedy and a nod to film noir will arrive at the Nothe Fort in Weymouth this summer.

The Munch Mission, a playable art heist adventure suitable for the whole family, will see audiences introduced to quirky agents Dali and Kahlo from the company of International Artists on Tuesday, August, 9 from 5.30pm to 6.40pm.

The show is a production of award-winning theatre company Brave Bold Drama CIC, co-run by Paul Lawless, originally from Weymouth.

Mr Lawless said: “It's an exciting prospect to present the work you've made in the town you grew up - it means family and friends get to watch the show.

“It's also nice because the breadth of cultural experiences on offer in the area isn't perhaps as diverse as it is in other parts of the region so to be able to offer families something a little different is really rewarding and helps to broaden cultural horizons.”

As a playable theatre show, audience members will be ‘in role’ as newly recruited agents of the top-secret global agency which solves artistic mysteries.

​He added: “This isn't just a show for children, it's something for the whole family to enjoy, the theatre we produce features gentle yet playful audience participation, original music and a layered narrative to appeal to all ages.

“This show parodies familiar spy tropes that adults will recognise from Hollywood films of the 30s and features lots of physical humour and witty word play.”

The audience will join agents Dali and Kahlo as they are immersed in the mission to retrieve world famous artwork stolen from Oslo National Museum, visiting Japan, the Netherlands, Morocco and England.

This is not their only role as throughout the show, they will also be asked to vote for different narrative outcomes which will impact the characters interviewed and countries visited.
