Police are appealing for information after a brick was thrown through a charity shop window in North Dorset.

As reported, Weldmar's Gillingham outlet was targeted by vandals last week.

It's reported that between around 5pm on Saturday, July 23 and 9am on Sunday, July 24 2022 a window at the Weldmar Hospicecare Trust shop in Gillingham High Street was damaged by a brick.

Damage was also caused to items inside the store as a result of the brick being thrown through the window.

Officers investigating the criminal damage are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Police Constable Geraint Craig, of the Gillingham Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “This mindless vandalism has resulted in damage and significant inconvenience being caused to a store that raises funds for a much-loved local charity.

“We are carrying out enquiries to identify who is responsible and I would like to hear from any witnesses or anyone with information that might assist our investigation.

“Finally, I would urge any local businesses or residents with CCTV, or motorists with dashcam who were in the area on the night in question, to please check their footage for anything of relevance.”
