A woman has been arrested following concern for the welfare of a young child.
A number of police officers and vehicles were seen in Weymouth town centre on Saturday evening.
Officers were responding to reports regarding the welfare of a child and a 23 year old woman was arrested on suspicion of child neglect offences.
She has been released on bail while enquiries continue.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "We were called at 5.56pm on Saturday 30 July 2022 to reports of the concern for the welfare of a young child at an address in Weymouth.
"A 23-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of child neglect offences and using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment and has been released on police bail while enquiries continue."
