Weymouth Food Festival was another big success as it returned for a second year.
The two-day event, which took place in Lodmoor County Park, is much more than a food festival, with plenty of stalls, live music and children’s events; it was an experience for the whole family.

Venetia Randall, one of the event's organisers said: “One family that I spoke to aged from one to eighty said they all enjoyed it as there was something to do for everyone.”
Ms Randall also plans other events around the country but the food festival is one close to her heart.
She said: “This is our hometown event, it’s one we do for ourselves and families because we all have families and kids.”
Whilst children could take part in bubble parties, cooking challenges and demos were available, alongside a circus skills workshop and dog show – not forgetting the chocolate eating competition.
A selection of live music from local musicians was very popular with visitors, with acts including The Undecided, Balance of Power, and Chief Lazarus all taking to the stage.
Ms Randall added: “Everyone was singing and dancing along, it was really well received.”
This is the second year that the event has been run after making its debut last year once restrictions were eased post-pandemic.
Ms Randall said: “The first year was really difficult as we only had three months to plan a good, safe event which would normally take a year.
“Last year around twenty stores and four acts cancelled due to Covid, but this year only three had to cancel.”
Supporting the local Weldmar Hospicecare charity, Ms Randall brought around 30 family and garden games from them to use at the event which she will give back to them to re-sell.
Other charities were also present at the event, raising money for worthy causes.
Organisers plan to run the event for a third, consecutive year following its success and popularity with visitors.
Ms Randall: “We want to keep going, it has been really well received and we are really grateful.”
