THE new trailer for Disney’s upcoming Andor series, a prequel to Rogue One, has been released – with part of it filmed in Dorset.

Winspit Quarry played host to film screws in May 2021 as Disney+ filmed the spin-off series of the iconic franchise.

And Winspit Quarry, near Worth Matravers, can be spotted on the trailer which was released on Monday.

Production crews remained tight lipped about the project last May with sign posts directing people away from the Quarry.

People were able to walk above the site, however, and view the action from above.

The 12-episode Star Wars series takes place before the events of Rogue One and focuses on the early formation of the Rebellion.

Diego Luna will reprise his role as Cassian Andor, with Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Fiona Shaw, Denise Gough and Kyle Soller also to appear.

The derelict Winspit Quarry has been used as a filming location over the years, including for classic Doctor Who and Blake 7 TV series. It was also featured as a scene location for the ‘Orkney Dig’ in the 2012 Disney film John Carter.
