THREE men suspected of shoplifting and 'causing a nuisance' with a speaker have been given an order banning them from a town centre for 12 hours, say police.

Police said that they have issued the three men Section 35 Dispersal Orders to leave Weymouth town centre after officers witnessed the men shoplifting low value items from stores.

The group of men were also said to be in possession of a speaker which was surrendered for the period of the dispersal notice.

A spokesman for Weymouth & Portland Police said: "Three males have just been issued with Section 35 Dispersal Orders directing them to leave the area of Weymouth town centre for a period of 12 hours.

"Officers witnessed the three who were suspected to be shoplifting low value items from stores. The goods have been recovered and returned to the stores where enquires are ongoing.

"The group were also in possession of a speaker which was causing a nuisance. The speaker has been surrendered for the period of the dispersal notice."
