A MAN has appeared in court in connection with a fatal crash in Weymouth last year.
Ricky Gareth Allen, of Poole, appeared at Poole Magistrates' Court today charged with one count of causing death by dangerous driving.
The charge accuses Allen of causing the death of Callan Malik-Oud by driving a vehicle, namely a KTM Duke motorcycle, dangerously on the A353 Preston Road on May 4, 2021.
In court, Allen entered no plea.
As previously reported, police officers responded to the report of a collision on that day involving a blue Yamaha motorcycle, which was reported to have been travelling as part of a wider group of four motorcycles.
Emergency services attended, along with the ambulance service, and the rider of the Yamaha – 26-year-old Callan Malik-Oud – was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Allen was released on unconditional bail and is due to appear in Bournemouth Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on September 5, 2022.
