AMAZON have applied for their signage to be erected outside the under-construction warehouse in Poole.

It has long been believed that global tech giant Amazon would take up tenancy at the brand-new parcel distribution warehouse nearly completion in land north of Sterte Avenue West.

The company has at present been unable to confirm its presence at the site, however it has now submitted an application for its signage to be placed in three locations on the building's external walls.

It marks the first time Amazon has directly applied for any aspect of the site to be implemented, with most of the application process being handled previously by developer St. Modwen.

Acting on behalf of Amazon, a DWD Property spokesperson said: "The signage has been sympathetically designed to respect the site's context and its relationship to adjoining buildings and the surrounding area.

"There are various existing employment uses within the immediate surroundings and each property has its own signage. The proposed signs are considered to have a negligible impact on the character of the local area."

Also forming part of the application is signage for other parts of the building such as vehicle directions, 'yard rules' and parking provision.

Building crews on site estimate that construction will be finished by late September this year. When complete, it will be one of the largest in Poole".
