AFTER a prolonged spell of hot and dry weather, Weymouth saw drops of rain for the first time in nearly two weeks.
Yesterday (August 15) saw rain for the first time since Tuesday, August 2 and marked the start of a three day weather warning for thunder and flash-flooding.
Thunderstorm warnings are in force across Dorset until 11.59pm on Wednesday, August 17 with the Met Office issuing a fresh alert.
The Met Office said between 20mm and 30mm of rainfall could be seen in the space of an hour due to slow moving thundery rain, however, some places could see 60mm of rainfall in less than three hours.
It comes after days of heatwave conditions with temperatures of 30C and above seen across Dorset.
