AN ANNUAL dog, sausage and cider festival is returning to Dorset.

The day of family fun at the Springhead pub at Sutton Poyntz will take place on Sunday, August 28 from 11am.

Visitors can expect live music from local bands, over 50 craft stalls and a whole bunch of activities for the kids.

In keeping with the name, local artisan cider will be available, alongside Dorset sausages and a dog show, and new this year there will be a dog recall competition which is not the only competition of the day, as making a return is the mighty sausage throwing contest.

The Springhead Dog Show will take place at 1pm, raising money for Margaret Green Animal Rescue and entry is £2 per class entry with classes including, waggiest tail and best young handler.

Dogs won’t be the only furry friends making an appearance as ‘The Ranch’ will be supplying an animal corner, complete with friendly goats, pony grooming and even a guest appearance from some reptiles.

Kids entertainments will be on offer during the day including face painting, a bouncy castle and meet and greets with popular characters, including Spiderman, the Minions and Baby Shark.

There will be free parking and adults’ entry is £2 and kids go free.
