A MAN has been sentenced after he stole a bank card and then fraudulently used it.
Emmanuel Osegi, whose address was given as Longcroft Road in Weymouth, appeared in Weymouth Magistrates Court on Thursday, August 11.
The 31-year-old pleaded guilty to one count of theft by finding and one count of fraud by false representation.
The charges relate to an incident which took place on Maiden Street in Weymouth on August 15 last year in which Osegi stole a bank card and then committed fraud by dishonestly making a false representation by using the bank card with the intent to make a gain, namely money, for himself.
For the offences, Osegi was fined a total of £200 and was ordered to pay £100 in compensation. He must also pay a £34 victim surcharge as well as £85 toward court costs.
The defendant's guilty plea was taken into account when imposing the sentence.
