HUNDREDS of people stuck around in town as pilots impressed once again at night air at the Bournemouth Air Festival.

The Rolls Royce spitfire kicked things off for night air on day two of the festival, dazzling crowds as it flew over the pier and into the sight of hundreds of aviation fans on the beach.

The plane, also known as the Spitfire XIX, completed numerous circuits along the sea front before heading off into the distance.

Next up was the thunderously loud RAF Typhoon, a favourite at the Air Festival.

The patriotic jet came hurtling overhead, leaving in its trail deafening sound which surely could have been heard for mile.

The talented pilot completed multiple, stomach-churning manoeuvres as it wowed crowds before accelerating up into the clouds.

Firebirds then spectacularly lit up the sky with a starry, acrobatic display. Starting as the sun set, the two RV4 X2s circled the sky before setting off fireworks in front of a jaw-dropping backdrop of a half moon.

The Tigers FFT parachute display team then jumped from hundreds of feet, racing from 6,000ft.

Otto the Helicopter then delivered a show-stopping finale, described as a “sky-gasm”.

The chopper, piloted by Alex Garman in his first ever public display, brought to a close night air and day two of the Bournemouth Air Festival with a mesmerising pyrotechnic display.
