JONATHON

I CANNOT believe the day of the marathon is upon us already.

Although the training has gone well and I feel in reasonably good condition apart from a slight cold, I am beginning to feel very nervous, and I am sure that this will continue right up to the start line.

The support we have received has been amazing, with around £7,000 now raised for Weldmar, so a big thank you to all who have contributed so far.

Over the past week, I have received a number of phone calls, text messages and good luck cards from family and friends all saying how they will be thinking of us on the day.

Although these have been very much appreciated, I would ask all of you who knew my mum Teresa, to think and remember her on the day.

We took this challenge to run in her memory and I know the thought of her looking down on us will drive the three us on to the finish.

ADAM

THE journey to tomorrow's big day has been a rollercoaster ride for me but now it has arrived I cannot wait to get stuck into it.

The knee injury I sustained around 12 weeks ago has had a huge impact on my preparations but this past two weeks I have managed to go on a few short runs which have raised my confidence.

To be honest I am not sure how long it will hold out. I am hoping I will be able to at least run half of it before taking to walking but whatever happens I am determined to get to that finish line.

I would like to wish my Dad and my brother Jonathon all the best in their runs. They have both worked extremely hard and I hope they have an enjoyable and injury-free journey.

Finally, I would like to thank all those people who have wished us well ahead of tomorrow. Your kind words will be ringing in our ears throughout the race and I know for sure that I will be thinking of every one of you. I am sure the event will be a very emotional one and there will be many things that will spur me on.

I will be constantly thinking about the tremendous money we have raised with your support and my family and friends who will be cheering me on both around the course and at home. But it will be my Mum who I will think about most.

She was an extra special lady and I know she will be with us every step of the way. Tomorrow is for you Mum.

JOHN

By the time you read this article we will all be making our way to our hotel in London ready for the big day.

It has been a long time coming but now the race is only 24 hours away we all just feel that we want to get on with it.

I hope our training has prepared us for what lies ahead. Training has gone well for Jonathon and I but Adam has had his injury problems and I really feel for him but he will be there doing it his way.

Jonathon and Adam are made of stern stuff and will be fighting all the way to the finish.

I am proud of my three sons for their commitment, not only in training but also in raising money for Weldmar. The help and encouragement they give me is also really appreciated. I would like to thank everyone who has supported us since we took on this challenge and we will all be thinking of you.

Finally, here is a poem that has helped to inspire me, it is called Follow Your Dream: Follow your dream,

And determine your goal,

Reach for the stars,

And look into your soul,

Find the ambition,

You need to embrace,

And suddenly everything,

Falls into place.

For if nothing is ventured,

Well how can you win,

Just believe in the courage,

That's harboured within,

Then your spirits can dance,

Till they burst at the seams,

In pursuit of the glory,

That lies in your dreams.
