A MAN has been sentenced for assaulting another man in Weymouth.
Michael Aiden Royle, whose address was given as Moor View in Bodmin, Cornwall, appeared in Cornwall Magistrates' Court on Friday, September 16, for sentencing.
The 31-year-old pleaded guilty to one count of assault by beating.
The charge relates to an incident which took place in Weymouth on June 24 this year whereby Royle assaulted another man by beating him.
For the offence, Royle was sentenced to a 12-month community order. During this time he must undertake 60 hours of unpaid work as well as a Mental Health Requirement consisting of 12 sessions of treatment.
A 12-month restraining order was also made banning Royle form contacting, directly or indirectly, the victim.
Royle must also pay compensation of £150, a victim surcharge of £114 and £85 towards court costs.
