Weymouth Concert Brass will be playing a selection of tunes with a watery theme in a concert on Friday, October 7.
It will be held at St Laurence's Church, Upwey, and begins at 7.30pm.
Since its formation in the 1980s, Weymouth Concert Brass has gone from strength to strength, now playing an active role in the community. The band has competed with success both locally and nationally.
Starting with Eric Coates’ The Dam Busters March (the prototype bouncing bomb was of course tested locally on The Fleet) they’ll move through sea shanties, Handel’s Water Music and other familiar pieces.
It promises to be a rousing evening – and not at all wet!
Tickets are £8, either on the door (cash only) or from www.ticketsource.co.uk/upwey-music.
In keeping with the liquid theme, there’ll be a cash bar.
The concert is promoted by Upwey Music, a local charity promoting and supporting musical performances in and around Upwey.
