A Dorset-based financial consultancy has backed the toy appeal once again this year.

Money Matters has generously donated £100 to the Dorset Echo Christmas Toy Appeal to help the less fortunate by making sure that every child has a present under the tree this Christmas time.

Based on Park Street in Weymouth, Money Matters has backed the appeal every year since 2009.

Director Brian Sheppard said: "It is something nice that local businesses can do to help their community.

"I would encourage any other local businesses to help. It is a good opportunity to help those less fortunate in the community."

Money Matters Financial Solutions has been established for 30 years and provide mortgage and financial solutions across the country.

Despite the pandemic, last year the Toy Appeal received the highest amount of donations ever - £8,348.

Debbie Hellaby, Newsquest Group Promotions Manager, said: "Sourcing, collecting and organising the toys for hundreds of children is not an easy task - the toys are usually matched to the age and interest of each child individually.

"We are delighted to accept the support of the Weymouth Rotary Club to facilitate the collection and collation of toys."

We were unable to put our toy collections bins out last year due to the pandemic but they are going out this year. We're grateful to Weymouth Rotary Club whose members will be helping us with the toy collections.

We are asking you to give a thought to needy children this Christmas, and buy one extra present to go in a Dorset Echo Toy Appeal bins. You can see locations of bins below.
