Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to a car fire on Old Castle Road, Weymouth in the early hours of Monday morning (November 28).
Two crews from Weymouth were called to a fire involving two vehicles and a hedge at 1.40am.
Two breathing apparatus wearers used one hose reel jet to put out the fire, with the stop message coming at 2.18am.
Officers from Dorset Police arrived at the scene at 1.43am.
They attended and liased with the fire service and the owner of the vehicle.
Officers left the scene at around 3.30am, the cause of the fire has not been confirmed.
Local resident Andrew Goold said: "I went outside to investigate a small explosion which woke me at 01.30 and discovered a parked car well ablaze at the bottom of the road.
"I contacted the fire brigade who attended the scene in two fire engines and quickly bought the fire under control."
