A WARNING of freezing fog has been issued by the Met Office for Dorset.
The yellow weather warning, which was issued late on Tuesday night, is in place until 8am today, January 25.
It covers Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole and wider Dorset.
A Met Office spokesperson said: “Patchy freezing fog will be dense at times overnight, but should clear Wednesday morning.
“Visibility as low as 50 to 100 metres is likely in a few areas and some untreated surfaces could turn icy, this combination resulting in potentially difficult driving conditions.”
It comes amid a cold spell which has lasted for several days with temperatures of minus 7C recorded in Dorset at night.
A Met Office severe cold weather alert remains in force until Friday, January 27.
Over the next few days, temperatures by day will increase to around 7C or 8C.
