A CCTV image has been released as part of a major search to find a missing man from Wareham.

The new CCTV image shows Steven Clarke, who has been missing since Thursday, January 26, on the morning he disappeared.

Police carried out searches overnight on Saturday and on Sunday in a bid to find him.

The search involves the NPAS helicopter and Dorset Search and Rescue Service.

The last confirmed sighting of Steven was outside the Garden Gate Tea Room in North Street at 10.30am.

Further sightings have been reported to Dorset Police, but these have not been confirmed at this time.

Steven is described as five feet 10 inches tall, of slim build and with brown unkempt hair. He often uses a gold-coloured walking stick.

Chief Inspector Greg Tansill, of Dorset Police, said: “We have been carrying out a large number of searches and enquiries overnight and today in a bid to locate Steven, but sadly these have so far not been successful. I am grateful to colleagues at Dorset Search and Rescue Service (DorSAR) and NPAS for their ongoing help.

“As a result of our initial enquiries, we have located CCTV footage of Steven in One Stop in Wareham at 9.10am on Thursday 26 January.

"While we have located the jacket, it is possible that he may have gone missing in the remaining clothing.

“We are becoming very worried for Steven and I would urge anyone who has seen him, knows of his whereabouts or has seen a man matching the description given to please get in touch.

“Finally, if Steven sees this appeal, I urge him to please contact us as we just want to know you are OK.”
