AN INTERNATIONAL theatre and TV star will join a Dorset arts organisation at its next fundraising event.

Dame Harriet Walter, known for her many film and TV appearances including Killing Eve, Ted Lasso, The Crown and Belgravia, is to join Dorchester Arts at What the Dickens! a fundraising evening celebrating all things Dickensian on Friday, March 10.

Dame Harriet, a Dorset resident and Patron of Dorchester Arts, will be performing extracts from Dickens’ novels, along with her husband, actor Guy Paul during the evening.

Dame Harriet has received a Laurence Olivier Award as well as numerous nominations including for a Tony Award, three Primetime Emmy Awards, and a Screen Actors Guild Award. In 2011, she was appointed Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE) for services to drama.

The event will also include performances by magician The Great Baldini, as well as local choir the Encore Singers.

With a light Dickensian supper served, promoters say 'this will be a very enjoyable evening' in support of Dorchester Arts and its community work.
