AN independent speciality coffee shop in Dorset is set to unveil its fifth branch.

Finca Coffee, will open up its new branch in Dorchester, on the site of the former Pantry Café on South Street in the town centre.

It will be the shop's second branch in the town, it also has outlets in Weymouth, Poundbury and Yeovil as well as a roastery at the Grove in Dorchester

The new site, like the others, will offer Finca's single-origin, speciality-grade coffee. With options of a more traditional tasting coffee (chocolatey, nutty), a wilder coffee (fruity, acidic), as well as a decaf option.

Don Izatt, a co-founder at the company said: "We are involved at every stage of the coffee process, from selecting SCA 80 point plus single estates, coffees from around the world, roasting and to the final preparation for our customers.

"We pay a price for the very high quality of this raw ingredient, but it's a price worth paying as it manifests in a sweeter, more delicious cup of coffee."

Fellow co-founder Marti Iszatt added: "We're proud that every single cup of coffee we've served, and every bag of coffee we've ever sold over the last nine years was roasted in Dorchester, either on our first shop roaster in Great Western Road or at our expanded roastery at The Grove".

This year, the coffee brewers expect to roast over 60 origin coffees, they currently have ten different varieties of coffee available to buy as whole bean or ground bags for home brewing which can be purchased in stores and online.

An opening date for the new store is currently unknown as works are underway to refurbish the interior.

Ahead of its opening, which is set to be over the next few weeks, the shop is looking to hire full-time permanent baristas.

The shop informed the Echo they are looking to employ three full-time baristas and one or two bakery assistants.
