A FESTIVAL of beer, beer and more beer is coming to Dorset this weekend.

A spring version of the popular Oktoberfest fest is set to grace the Nothe Fort in Weymouth, meaning you don't have to wait until autumn to enjoy the festivities.

The Springtober fest will show off Dorset's best beer, food and music when it takes place from 4-10pm this Saturday, March 11.

Members of the public are being invited to don their lederhosens for the event which is being hosted in partenership with Cerne Abbas Brewery.

Beers across the county at the event include Gurt Coconuts Rum Stout, Gurt Vanilla Stout, Big Lubelski, Danny’s Brew, Tiger Tom and an extra special limited edition Nothe Fort Beer!

There will also be beers from Dorset Brewing Company, Piddle Brewery, Eight Arch and The Brewshack.

The Bierfass band will provide the 'oompah' by playing a unique mix of polkas, waltzes, drinking tunes, combined with British pop and other well-known songs.

Street food will be catered by the Dorset Food Co who are set to provide a wide range of dishes on offer.

Rugby lovers will not be missing out if they attend either, as the fort will be showing the hotly-anticipated England vs France Six Nations Rugby match which kicks off at 4.45pm.

Early bird tickets are available at £10 per person and are available on the Nothe Fort website, a limited edition Springtober glass can also be purchased in advance for an extra £1.50.

Tickets will also be available on the door at £12.50 each.
