POLICE are investigating after a car crash in Dorset left a vehicle on its roof - with the occupants reportedly fleeing the scene.
The incident happened at 4.39am on Saturday, March 11 on the A350 near to the Ivy Cross roundabout in Shaftesbury.
Dorset Police said that officers attended in the early hours of the morning and helped to recover the vehicle alongside the fire service.
Enquiries into the incident are ongoing after the people inside the car - a silver Ford - left the scene of the crash.
"Dorset Police received a report at 4.39am on Saturday, March 11 of a single vehicle collision on the A350 near to the Ivy Cross Roundabout in Shaftesbury," police said.
"It was reported that the occupants of the vehicle involved had left the scene.
"Officers attended and the vehicle was recovered. Enquires into the incident are ongoing."
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Service confirmed that it sent a crew from Shaftesbury to the incident at 5.21am by request of the police to assist with scene safety and left at about 5.45am.
