The BBC scored an own goal when it suspended Gary Lineker.

Apart from angering the weekend football viewing public, it succumbed to Government pressure which in itself proved BBC ‘impartiality’ was highly questionable under this Government.

Gary Lineker had every right to expose the provocative language of the Tory Home Secretary on his Twitter account.

There are hateful people in this growing culture war who are only too willing to stir up the glowing embers of divide and rule to secure a sorry mandate for the Tory party and the extreme right.

The disturbances in Cannock and Merseyside are amongst the latest examples of the running sore of extremism. Expect more in the run up to the next election. Caroline Lucas has now begun to make us all aware of the BBC’s refusal to show David Attenborough’s sixth episode of Wild Isles for fear of provoking an aggressive reaction from the extreme right. So much for BBC ‘impartiality’!

In all honesty even if this Immigrant ‘Small Boats’ Bill passes Parliament it’s unlikely to work given the obstacles which lie in wait for it in the courts.

Whatever happens in the next two years, those of us who are determined to see a change of Government will need to work hard for every vote - not assume that the political parties will do it for us!

Word of mouth can achieve what the current political system consistently fails to achieve.

Whatever the occasion or human activity never miss an opportunity to engage before and on ballot day ‘til 10pm! Match everybody’s day!
