The driver of a car with no front plate spotted 'enjoying the sun, sea and sand' of Weymouth has been fined £100.

The driver told police that the number plate had come off, but police say that there was no trace of a number plate ever being attached.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "Earlier this afternoon this vehicle was spotted enjoying the sun, sea and sand in Weymouth, but minus a front number plate.

"The driver was spoken to and said that it (had) come off.

"There was no trace of any number plate having been previously attached and so a ticket, with a fine of £100 was issued to the driver."
