A driver appeared to have a lucky escape after a car left a road and ended up on its side.

Emergency services were called to the A352 between Wool and Wareham to reports of a two-vehicle collision.

Police, paramedics and two crews of firefighters attended the incident on Friday afternoon. It is understood a tree was also brought down in the collision and it took almost three hours for the scene to be cleared.

Despite the collision and one vehicle ending up on its side, police said there were no reports of any injuries. It happened at the Lulworth turning (B3070).

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "We received a report at 4.18pm on Friday 14 April of a two vehicle collision on the A352 near Holmebridge between Wool and Wareham.

"There were no reports of any injuries. The fire service attended to assist and recovery was arranged. The local authority was also notified due to damage to a tree that was causing an obstruction in the road. Officers left the scene at around 7.10pm."

A spokesperson for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called to Holmebridge at 4.18pm on Friday for a road traffic collision where one car had left the road; I believe it ended up on its side.

"Two crews from Poole attended but the two occupants had freed themselves so firefighters provided casualty care until the ambulance service arrived."
