The Weymouth Aphasia Group, which has been operating in the community for more than 10 years, has now moved location.

The group has relocated its afternoon get-togethers to the newly built residential and nursing home in Weymouth, Weymouth Manor.

Aphasia is a condition that affects the brain and leads to problems with communication. Each person with aphasia experiences it differently.

The group is led by Pat Browne, who herself suffered a stroke a few years ago. It is also supported by several volunteers.

Each afternoon is different with members playing games, singing songs, doing chair aerobics, and creating art with therapy.

All are invited to take part in the activities, but members are also welcome to sit back and watch.

The aphasia group will meet at Weymouth Manor on the first and third Wednesdays of every month from 2pm to 4pm.

Esther Sheppard, sales and marketing manager at Weymouth Manor, said: "We are really pleased to be able to support the aphasia group.

"The aphasia group welcomes our residents to take part in their activities. Our residents have enjoyed meeting the members of the group and look forward to the monthly coffee afternoons."
