Emergency services rushed to the aid of a person who had head and neck injuries after falling from the first floor of a property.
They were called to High Street in Swanage at 10.30am yesterday.
Swanage firefighters helped paramedics to carry the casualty out of the building.
They were put on a spinal board and carried out through a narrow staircase.
They were then taken to hospital by the ambulance service.
A spokesperson from Swanage Fire Station said: "One pump was mobilised to a property in Swanage to assist ambulance crews in removing a person from the first floor.
"The casualty was put on a spinal board and carried out through a narrow staircase and taken to hospital."
