A WOMAN was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a three-car crash in Dorset.

The crash happened on the A350 near to the Littledown Business Park north of Shaftesbury at 3.08pm yesterday (Thursday, May 25).

Police officers attended as well as fire and ambulance crews, and a female driver – a woman in her 30s – was flown to hospital with serious injuries.

The other drivers received minor injuries, Dorset Police confirmed.

Road closures were put in place for some time to enable emergency services to make the scene safe and conduct an investigation.

A 39-year-old man from Hastings, Sussex, was arrested on suspicion of driving offences and has been released on bail.

Dorset Police is now appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward regarding the crash.

Sergeant Chris Brolan, of the Dorset Police Roads Policing Team, said: “I am appealing for any witnesses to the incident or anyone who has captured it on dashcam to please come forward as this might assist our investigation.

“Also, I would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding during the extended road closure.”
