Three men were arrested following reports of an assault in a pub in Wareham

Dorset Police received a report at 12.25 am on Saturday, May 27, that a man had been assaulted in The Duke of Wellington in East Street.

A man aged in his 20s sustained facial injuries and attended hospital for treatment.

Following enquiries, a 22-year-old man and two 21-year-old men, all from Wareham, were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

Two of the men have been released on police bail and the other is released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Officers investigating the alleged assault are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Police Constable Liam Sutherland, of Dorset Police, said: “I am carrying out an investigation to establish what happened and am keen to hear from anyone with information.

“There may have been a number of people in the pub at the time and I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident and has not already spoken to police.”
