SIGNALLING problems are affecting trains across Dorset today (Saturday, June 3).

National Rail says that disruption is expected between Weymouth and Bournemouth until the end of the day.

A signalling problem between Moreton and Dorchester South stations resulted in blocked lines earlier this afternoon.

National Rail has advised that trains are now running at a 'reduced speed' and services through these stations 'may be delayed or revised'.

It added that 'until further notice', it will need to make 'alterations' to services.

This means that some trains between London Waterloo and Weymouth will run between London Waterloo and Wool in both directions.

Tickets will also be accepted on the First Bus number 10 service between Dorchester and Weymouth, while rail replacement buses will be put on from midday between Wareham and Weymouth in both directions.

"We have been informed of a signalling problem between Moreton and Dorchester South. This means that trains are unable to run between these stations," National Rail said.

"For further information or onward travel advice please speak to a member of staff or use a station help point."
