Emergency services have rushed to the scene of a lorry fire on the A352.

Police and Fire services are at the scene where a lorry has been seen well alight, with a large smoke cloud coming from the vehicle.

The lorry driver is being treated by the ambulance service for suspected smoke inhalation.

The A352 Wareham Road is partially blocked in both directions, causing delays and slow traffic.

A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue said: "We received a call at 10.58 am this morning about a vehicle fire on the A352, East Stoke.

"Crews from Wareham and Poole are currently in attendance dealing with the incident which involves a lorry, well alight. Firefighters are using two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire."

A witness told the Echo the road had been closed after the fire.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "We received a report at 10.52 am of a vehicle fire on the A352 at East Stoke.

"Officers attended to assist the fire service and road closures have been put in place.

"The driver of the lorry involved is being treated by the ambulance service as a precaution following suspected smoke inhalation.

"Recovery of the vehicle is being arranged."
