A paw-some event for dogs and their owners will return to Dorset next month.

Margaret Green Animal Rescue (MGAR) will be welcoming furry friends to their Church Knowle centre near Wareham on Sunday August 6, for their ever-popular, Country Dog Show.

The charity will also be looking to celebrate their former residents who have found a new home.

Gates will open at 11.00 am and entry will be £5 per adult and £2 for children up to 12 years, with all funds raised going towards the rescue animals in their care and those in need.

The exciting Dog Show will start from 11.30 am with plenty of classes to be contested, including Best Rescue, Most Appealing Eyes and Golden Oldie.

Rosettes will be awarded from 1st – 5 5th place and a special goodie bag will be presented to the winners.

The event will also host MGAR’s very own Have-a-go-Agility, Doggy Dash, Doggy Lucky Dip and many more attractions for dogs and owners alike to enjoy.

There will be a selection of stalls from local traders at the event, as well as a range of hot food and refreshments throughout the day.

The charity is thrilled to be launching the MGAR Dog Reunion for the first time ever, where any ex-residents who have been rehomed from MGAR are welcome to attend and receive a green ribbon for their collar or harness, say "hello" to the staff who cared for them and share stories about how they have been thriving in their forever homes.

Other activities will include face painting, a tombola and raffle with lots of prizes up for grabs.
