The Thomas Hardy Society is actively recruiting a secretary and a membership secretary to join its friendly and committed council of management team.
This international society has more than 1,000 members with an outstanding reputation within the local community and academic world.
It holds six meetings per year for the council of management and runs walks, study weekends and conferences regularly.
The Thomas Hardy Society is an educational charity founded in 1968 with the intention of promoting public knowledge and understanding of the life and works of the Dorset poet and novelist to anyone with an interest in Thomas Hardy anywhere in the world.
The Society is run by a Council of Management, which meets regularly in Dorchester, and has an office in Kingston Maurward College, staffed by volunteers.
Anyone interested in joining as secretary or membership secretary and would like to discuss it further with more information should email Mark Chutter, Chairman and Academic Director on chuttermark@gmail.com or telephone 07399833930.
