An early hours crash between a van and motorcycle has left a major road in north Dorset closed in both directions.
At around 5.48 am today a van and motorcycle collided on B3081 Higher Blandford Road.
Police and ambulance services rushed to the scene of the crash.
The road has been closed between A30 Salisbury Road and Foot's Hill.
Heavy traffic has been reported in the surrounding area.
The closure is likely to affect traffic heading to The Gillingham and Shaftesbury Show at Turnpike Showground.
Drivers are advised to find alternative routes.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "A collision was reported on Higher Blandford Road at 5.48am on 16/08/23.
"It involved a motorcycle and van.
"The road has been closed.
"The ambulance service also attended"
