RESIDENTS have been warned about vehicle theft and doorstep crime after reports of incidents in their area.
Dorset Police Community Support Officers have been out in the Wool, Wareham and Upton area on patrol following the reports.
The force has issued the following tips to residents concerning vehicle theft.
1. Lock your vehicle always. 2. Close windows and doors. 3. Remove all valuables: sat nav, tools, mobiles, and money. 4. Park your vehicle in a safe and well-lit area. Use secure car parks.
The following advice has been issued in relation to doorstep crime.
1. Never accept work from anyone who offers it over the phone or at your door. 2. Never go to the bank with a tradesperson or give them your account details. 3. Never let anyone into your property unless you know them.
A spokesperson said: "Please stay vigilant and if you have any concerns regarding any community issues in your area, please contact Dorset Police on 101 non-emergency or https://crowd.in/saKgID.
"If a crime is in progress or life is in danger, please call 999."
