A man has been arrested after three people were seriously injured in a crash between two cars and a minibus in Sherborne.

A man in his sixties and two teenagers were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of driving offences.

Police were called to a crash between a red Ford Transit minibus, a red Toyota Yaris and a red Volkswagen Polo on the A30 Sherborne Road at Purse Caundle at 6.15 pm yesterday evening (Thursday, September 7).

A man aged in his 60s was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.

A man and a woman, both aged in their late teens, were also taken to hospital with suspected serious injuries.

A road closure was put in place to enable emergency services to safely deal with the incident.

Officers investigating the collision in Sherborne are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

Police Constable Adam Carr, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “We are carrying out a thorough investigation to establish the full circumstances of this incident.

“I am appealing for any witnesses to the collision, or the manner of driving of any of the vehicles prior to it, to please contact us.

“I would also ask anyone who was driving in the area and has dashcam fitted to their vehicle to please check their footage for anything that might assist our enquiries.

“Finally, I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding while the road closures were in place.”
