A Britain's Got Talent winner is among the cast announced for this year's Weymouth Christmas Pantomime.

George Sampson will star as the Prince in Snow White at Weymouth Pavilion.

The pantos are popular with children and adults alike and have been a mainstay of family festive entertainment in the town for many years.

George won the televised talent competition in 2008 with his hip hop interpretation of Singing in the Rain.

Following the success of the show he went onto star in the West End's HipHop musical: Into the Hoods, and followed this with two sold out National arena tours with BGT.

George starred as Eddie in the feature films Street Dance 3D and Street Dance 2.

He then went onto shoot three series of BBC drama Waterloo Road, playing bad boy Kyle Stack, in which one series won a National Television Award for Best Drama.

He has also appeared in BBC drama Casualty and played Ryan on Emmerdale in 2016.

George will be joined by Jamie Riding, who will star as the Dame in 2023 performance.

Born and bred in Dorset, Jamie trained at the Jellicoe Theatre at Bournemouth and Poole College and went on to collect a portfolio of experience within theatre, starring as Baroness Daisy Hardup in Cinderella, The Lion in The Wizard of Oz and many more.

The pantomime will be performed between Saturday December 16 until Sunday December 31 with two shows daily at 2.00pm and 6.00pm.

Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs is brought to Weymouth by the same team behind previous Weymouth pantos Sleeping Beauty, The Wizard of Oz and Rapunzel.

A spokesperson for the event described what theatre goers can expect from this year's performance: "In a true rags to riches story Snow White manages, with the help of her madcap friend Muddles the Jester, to meet a handsome Prince and make all her dreams come true.

"A pantomime full of excitement, including a Good Fairy, a Magic Mirror and the craziest Seven Dwarfs you've ever seen!

Tickets will range from £18.50 to £22.50 and can be purchased at weymouthpavilion.co.uk
