Dorchester Camera Club is holding its biggest exhibition in its history.

The club is exhibiting a total of 180 photos submitted by more than half of its 100 members in Jubilee Hall, Great Cranford Street, Poundbury.

Entitled Inspired by Light, the exhibition was opened by Mayor of Dorchester, Alistair Chisholm on Saturday, September 23, and will run through until Sunday, October 1.

Mayor Chisholm said: “It’s a splendid exhibition, wonderfully varied and frequently breath-taking."

Founded in 1936 by a group of local photography enthusiasts, the club is now one of the most successful photography clubs in the UK, with members regularly winning top photographic prizes.

Dorset Echo:

The exhibition is open every day from 10am to 4pm, and will offer a late night viewing until 7pm on Friday, September 29.

Visitors will have the opportunity to purchase framed and unframed photographic prints and greeting cards, along with ceramic and glass work made by local Dorset artists.
