A popular Weymouth restaurant is set to close its doors for the last time.

The much-loved Galley Bistro in Hope Square will close after lunch service on Sunday, October 1, so that owners Glyn and Beth can ‘spend more time with family and concentrate on the delivery side of the business.’

Glyn and Beth have been running the Galley Bistro for 20 years.

The pair took to Facebook and said: “We would like to announce that the Galley Bistro will close for the final time after lunch service on Sunday.

“It was a tough decision, but we would like to spend more time with our family and concentrate on the delivery side of the business.

“We would like to thank the staff, customers, and suppliers that have helped make the last 20 years so amazing, we have made lots of friends and fantastic memories!  We will miss you all!  Glyn and Beth.”

The pair have been met with floods of positivity from customers and locals who have plenty of fond memories of time spent at the venue.

The Galley Bistro is a family-run establishment and wherever possible, their menu consists of locally supplied produce, including the locally made sausages in their breakfasts or fillet steak on the dinner menu.
