A popular Halloween competition is returning with a twist.

The Chickerell Halloween Spooktacular is back this October and this year local residents will get the opportunity to select their favourite entry.

Chickerell Town Council has taken over the running of the event and is reminding residents that it’s time to get decorating.

Photographs of Halloween-themed houses will be on display at a Pumpkin Party taking place at Willowbed Hall on Friday, October 27 between 1pm and 3.30pm.

The free party will consist of lots of fun activities, including a bouncy castle, face painting, storytelling, a dance creeptacular show, yoga and pebble painting.

This popular competition has taken place for a number of years with an annual cup and prize being presented for the best dressed house by the Mayor of Chickerell.

The Spirit of Chickerell is sponsoring the competition and chairman John Worth will accompany the mayor to present the prizes for the best houses on October 31.

Chickerell residents can enter the Halloween Spooktacular competition here: www.chickerelltowncouncil.co.uk or via email: tara.williams@chickerell-tc.gov.uk.

Photographic entries must be submitted by Wednesday, October 25.
