A SCALED down chamber ensemble is to present a programme of dance-inspired music in a rural setting.

Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, one of the UK’s best loved orchestras, will bring BSO On Your Doorstep to Sydling St Nicholas Village Hall on Thursday, November 30.

The series brings specially designed, mid-scale chamber ensembles to a variety of community venues and audiences across the south west, presenting engaging programmes for families, new audiences and seasoned concert-goers alike.

During its own successful history of presenting professional performances in rural communities, Dorset’s touring arts charity, Artsreach, has also enjoyed a long-running relationship with Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.

Artsreach director Kerry Bartlett said: “Artsreach is incredibly proud of the partnership it has formed with the BSO over many years. We’ve loved working in partnership with the ensembles and our community volunteers to present recitals in village halls, churches and theatres of all sizes right across the county, and to audiences who may never have experienced a professional classical ensemble before.”

This autumn, as part of the new Artsreach programme, join Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra’s brass octet ‘From Baroque to Boogie’, a programme of dance-inspired music through the ages.

The players will present and perform a programme of brass music from the ancient to the contemporary alongside new arrangements, featuring works from Monteverdi to Charlie Parker, and Handel to Piazzolla.

Artsreach is delighted to present the BSO Brass Octet at Sydling St Nicholas Village Hall on Thursday 30 November.
