A woman was trapped in her car by fast-flowing water.

The woman became trapped in the vehicle on Deep Ford Lane, Chetnole, near Sherborne.

Two fire crews from Yeovil and a technical rescue team from Weymouth attended to help the woman to safety.

A spokesperson for Dorset and Wilshire Fire and Rescue said: "We were called to Deep Ford Lane, Chetnole at 8.23pm on Saturday, October 28, where a car was stuck in fast-flowing water.

"Two crews from Yeovil and a technical rescue team from Weymouth attended and helped the driver to safety.

"A search was also done of the full area as another vehicle was also in the water, but police confirmed this had been dealt with earlier in the evening."

The stop message - meaning the incident is under control and no further resources are required - came in at 10.23pm.
