A MAN was arrested after the police helicopter was scrambled to a village home.
Officers swooped in Piddlehinton following reports of a man in possession of a firearm.
A 40-year-old man from Dorchester was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
Dorset Police received a report of a man in possession of a firearm at an address on the B3143 in Piddlehinton at 11.38am yesterday (Wednesday, November 8).
An air weapon was seized following investigations by police.
Officers were also assisted by the National Police Air Service Helicopter (NPAS).
There were no reports of any injuries and investigations are continuing into the incident.
The man has been released on police bail while enquiries continue.
A road off the B3143 was also closed during the incident.
