A single-car crash on B3081 Zig Zag Hill near Shaftesbury caused fuel to spill and left the road blocked.

At around 6am it was reported that a crash had left the road in East Melbury blocked between White Pit Lane and Donhead Hollow.

Traffic is reportedly slow following the crash.

There were no reports of any injuries and the local authority was notified due to fuel on the road.

Zig Zag Hill is notorious for feeling "like a roller-coaster" and has a steep incline, several sharp turns and rocky terrain.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "We received a report at 6am of a single vehicle collision on the B3081 at Zig Zag Hill near East Melbury.

"There were no reports of any injuries, the road was blocked.

"The vehicle was recovered and the local authority was notified due to fuel on the road.

"Officers left the scene shortly before 8am."
