Young Dorset farmers have organised an auction to help fund projects across the county.

The Dorset Federation of Young Farmers will hold an ‘Auction of Promises’ at Charlton Down Village Hall on Saturday, November 25, from 7pm.

The event will see a total of 55 lots auctioned, including vouchers from local businesses, cheeseboards, whiskey bottles, tickets to shows, trips away and even a promise to bale 200 bales of hay, amongst many other items.

All the items have been donated by different Young Farmers Groups throughout the county and local businesses, and is the first event of its kind to take place since 2016.

The fundraising evening will see past and present chairmen, presidents, club leaders and members get together as well as welcoming new members being introduced to the Dorset Young Farmers Club (Dorset YFC).

A Spokesperson for the Dorset YFC said: “This evening will be a great way to help raise funds for Dorset YFC and give you a chance to socialise and listen to our guest speaker, to be revealed in due course.

“All funds raised this evening will go towards Dorset Young Farmers for ongoing projects running the county and our membership.”

Tickets for the evening are £20 per person and can be bought individually or as a full table of 10. The tickets include a drink, and a charcuterie board for each table.

The lots can be seen in advance and silent bids can be made using an online form where bidders can choose to remain anonymous

Dorset YFC is part of the National Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs and is one of the largest rural youth organisations in the UK.
