Truly Driftwood is home to a selection of unique and handmade crafts and homewares and was born from Shulay’s imagination.
Wayne said: “When I met Shulay at the end of last year, she loved doing this kind of thing involving driftwood and upcycling.”

The pair are now in a relationship and are running the business together.
Shulay makes beautiful crafts out of washed-up driftwood that she collects whilst beachcombing, and used to have her own stall at Value House on Mandeville Road in Wyke Regis before it shut down.

Wayne added: “We had a stroll on the beach, and I said I (was interested in the venture) and it has progressed from there – it’s something that she has always loved doing. She’s the ideas person and I’m the doer.”

Shulay’s daughter studied jewellery and silversmithing and has created plenty of stunning works which are also set to be displayed in the shop.
Wayne said: “Everything is hand-made with love and care.
“Filling a whole shop, yourself is not easy, but it’s been going really well, and the weekends have been especially good.”

The majority of crafters displaying work are local, however there is a woman from Oxford that often holidays in Weymouth currently selling her crafts in the shop.
