A KEY figure in the world of politics is to talk about his life to a Dorchester audience.

An Evening with Vince Cable comes to Dorchester Corn Exchange on Friday, December 1 at 7.30pm.

A major politician, a key figure for five years in the Coalition Cabinet as Secretary of State for Business Innovation and Skills, Leader of the Liberal Democrat party – this Lib Dem political titan will be talking to journalist and presenter Matt Stadlen about his life then and his life now.

When not working, he is a father and grandfather and a competitive ballroom and dancer (who once earned 10/10 from Len and Craig on a Christmas edition of Strictly), but who is The Rt Hon Sir Vince Cable MP?

Having retired from Parliament after 20 years as MP, Vince now writes books on political and economic matters, is a Visiting Professor at the LSE; a Distinguished Fellow of the Overseas Development; and Director of a company creating a hydrogen refuelling network as part of the net zero economy.

The evening is presented in association with Clive Conway Productions.

Tickets are £22 or £20 for members and concessions. Go to the Dorchester Arts website for tickets at dorchesterarts.org.uk or call 01305 266926.
