A car caught fire on a residential street in Weymouth shortly after midnight this morning.
A crew from Weymouth Fire Station was called to the blaze on Hawkweed Road in Littlemoor at 12.47am.
The crew found the car to be 'well alight' on arrival.
Police were requested to attend.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue said: "We received a call at 12.47am this morning about a vehicle fire on Hawkreed Road, Weymouth.
"A crew from Weymouth attended the incident which involved a single car, well alight on arrival. Two breathing apparatus wearers used two hose reels to extinguish the fire."
The stop message - meaning the incident is under control and no further resources are required - came in at 1.22am.
A Dorset Police spokesperson said: "We received a report at 12.51am this morning from the fire service in relation to a vehicle fire in Hawkweed Road in Weymouth.
"Officers attended to assist the fire service and an update was received at 1.45am that the fire was out.
"The cause of the fire is believed to have been deliberate and enquiries into the matter are ongoing. No arrests have been made."
