Potholes and cracks on a Bridport road have been daubed with crude graffiti.

The damaged road along the B3162 through North Allington has been highlighted using spray paint.

The phallic graffiti comes in white, orange and pink and covers more than a dozen of the cracks and potholes along the stretch of road.

The graffiti was spotted last Saturday.

A diversion route will be signed.

Site Agent for Dorset Highways Jason Loibl says in the letter: "We will be carrying out targeted and localised repairs to (parts of the road).

"During the closure periods there will be no on street parking available, and temporary parking restrictions will be implemented to prevent waiting or parking. Please note that any vehicle waiting in contravention of temporary parking restrictions may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986. If a vehicle has been removed, the owner must contact the council’s vehicle recovery contractor."
